A practical checklist

  1. Keep the activity attached to the correct parent field.
  2. Describe the section using a stable direction, landmark, or other recognizable boundary.
  3. State what remained untouched and whether a later entry completes the job.
Illustrative recordA worked example

Tillage · West Flats · September 28. “Worked the eastern half up to the drainage ditch; western half left untouched.” A September 30 entry identifies the later western pass separately.

What to avoid

Do not use the total field area as the worked area when only a section was completed. My Farm Assistant does not infer the coverage of a pass from your note.
