A practical checklist

  1. Create a new Seeding or Planting activity on the replant date.
  2. Describe the section using landmarks and reference the original operation date.
  3. Separate the observed condition from any cause that has not been confirmed.
Illustrative recordA worked example

Planting · June 3: “Replanted the low southeast strip, originally planted May 15. Sparse emergence observed on May 29; cause not confirmed.” The first planting remains in the field history.

What to avoid

Do not replace the original date with the replant date. That hides the sequence and makes the untouched part of the field appear newly planted.
