A practical checklist
- Check that the field no longer needs current activity entries.
- Add a concise note stating when and why it became inactive.
- Use archiving rather than repurposing the old field identity for different ground.
“Old Hay Lot” notes say “No longer operated after the 2026 season.” Its existing cutting and harvest history is retained. A newly rented parcel gets a new field entry rather than inheriting that old name and history.
What to avoid
Archiving is an organizational step, not a promise to erase all copies or delete account data. Use the product’s deletion process for account removal.
