A practical checklist

  1. Add separate dated Harvesting entries for the completed work.
  2. Use distinct load references or daily source totals with a clear basis.
  3. Write a completion note on the final operation describing what was finished.
Illustrative recordA worked example

September 22: “North strip; two weighed loads, combined 18 t, slips 501–502.” September 24: “Remaining section, 12 t, slip 507; harvest completed.” The dates and quantities preserve the weather interruption between work days.

What to avoid

If a daily entry already includes several loads, do not also record those same loads as additional quantities. Choose one consistent level of recording.
