A practical checklist

  1. Enter the original known quantity in bu, kg, lb, or t as appropriate.
  2. State whether a bushel figure came directly from the source record or an external calculation.
  3. Compare or combine quantities only after verifying compatible units and measurement bases.
Illustrative recordA worked example

One load is recorded as 500 bu from its source ticket; another as 13 t from a scale slip. The notes preserve those original units. They are not added as if they were two numbers on the same scale.

What to avoid

My Farm Assistant does not automatically convert crop quantities or supply crop-specific bushel factors. Keep any external conversion transparent.
