What are you working on?
Prepare farm records before leaving cell coverage
Complete the native app’s farm download while connected before relying on records in a field with no signal. Opening one screen is not the same as confirming the complete download.
Understand a local save versus a synchronized farm record
A native mobile save first commits work on your device. Synchronization is a separate step that makes the change available remotely; those two states should not be treated as equivalent.
What to do with a farm entry waiting to sync
A pending entry needs a successful retry when conditions allow; it usually does not need to be entered again. Re-entering the same work can create duplicates when the original later synchronizes.
Return to locally saved farm work after an app restart
Downloaded native records and locally saved changes are stored durably on the device. After a restart, check the existing work and its synchronization state before deciding anything needs to be re-entered.
Use another authorized farm on mobile while offline
The native app downloads all authorized farms, including ones you have not opened. Offline availability still depends on completing those downloads while connected and having authorization for the farm.
Save a mobile farm photo now and upload it later
A native mobile photo attachment can remain with locally saved work while offline. Its cloud upload and the shared record still require later successful synchronization.
Choose web or native mobile for field record work
Use the connected web app when internet is available, and prepared native mobile records when work requires offline access. Their save and data-loading behavior differ intentionally.
Prepare a new phone for offline farm records
A new device needs a connected sign-in and complete download before it can provide offline farm data. Existing records on another phone do not automatically make the new device ready.
Read downloaded farm records without confusing old and empty data
Downloaded records remain useful offline, but they may not include recent remote changes. Separate the information you have from the information you have not yet been able to download.
